Include provision for equestrians within the new Garden Communities so that the Plan is consistent throughout.
Page 31 paragraph 4.21 and 4.22: 4.21 states that 'the Local Plan aims to ensure that footpaths, cycleways, bridleways and other Green Infrastructure routes are safe, accessible and well connected to services and facilities'. This we fully support; however, paragraph 4.22 goes on to also mention that new routes within the Garden Communities will be 'well connected to existing community facilities and the network of cycle and pedestrian paths which will contribute to providing leisure and sporting needs'. It appears that the Local Plan intends to omit provision for equestrians within the new Garden Communities instead of including provision for them.
To make this Plan sound, the paragraph should be reworded thus: 'well connected to existing community facilities and the network of cycle, equestrian and pedestrian paths which will contribute to providing leisure and sporting needs'. This will make the Plan consistent and fully inclusive.
