Question 2

Representation ID: 833

Received: 29/03/2011

Respondent: High Wych Parish Council

Representation:

There is a concern that however appropriate the issues identified by the Council are, they appear to lack the focus. My reading of the Councils own documents is that what residents are after is an overall better quality and more sustainable environment and that the link between this and the notion of scale and growth is not made with any rigour. The quality of life issues appear to emanate from the state of existing housing and employment: a focus of issues in the Core Strategy ought to be a creation of employment through enhancing the town as an attractive place to live whilst investing in skills and training.

Representation ID: 837

Received: 29/03/2011

Respondent: High Wych Parish Council

Representation:

Again I would suggest more emphasis is placed on enhancing the town facilities so as to make it specifically attractive to new employers. There also appears to be an opportunity for the regeneration and new infrastructure provision to protect the environment through reducing the impact on climate change, through say low carbon and renewable power.

Question 19

Representation ID: 840

Received: 29/03/2011

Respondent: High Wych Parish Council

Representation:

Some existing areas as identified by the Council need investment and at present don't meet employment needs. More could probably be done within the town centre to develop the mix of employment - there is a heavy bias towards retail. Given the traffic congestion and location of rail stations. It may be possible to identify employment areas on the south side of the town near junction 7.

Respondent: High Wych Parish Council

Representation:

In addition to the consultants view it appears this option offends a significant number of themes, strategies and considerations identified in the Issues and Options Consultation. Its is incredible that the Council should seek to preserve and enhance its own environment through degrading that of residents in another district!
